Education
Cruz promised to order that the Department of Education end the Common Core (An educational initiative in the United States that details what K–12 students should know in English language arts and mathematics at the end of each grade.) and discussed his plan for U.S. education policy. Cruz says, “We need to repeal Common Core. We need to get the federal government out of the business of dictating educational standards. Education is far too important for it to be governed by unelected bureaucrats in Washington. It should be at the state level or even better at the local level.” When it comes to school choices, Cruz says every child in America, regardless of their race, ethnicity, wealth or zip code has a right to a quality education.
Military
Cruz is against letting transgenders/gays into the military because they’ve lost sight of what their job is and says that the military is not a cauldron for social experiments. Ted Cruz said, “That the military's moves to include transgender soldiers in its ranks had shifted its focus away from its core mission.” Obama wondered what would happen if Cruz was elected as president so Cruz said that he would "listen to the expert judgment of the generals and admirals" about this issue and that the military policy should follow what is needed for "good order and discipline".
Immigration
Cruz says to stop illegal immigration they need to first
secure the border. Then, Restore the rule of law: “We must reverse President Obama’s enforcement “priorities,” which allow a large number of criminal aliens to unlawfully remain in the United States. And finally, protect Americans: “As a nation built by those fleeing persecution and seeking freedom, we must once against welcome and celebrate legal immigrants while at the same time protecting American jobs and interests.”
