What I Want to Be
I’m an 18 year old Muslim in the 12th grade and I want to be a pediatrician. When I first came to Central, I wanted to be a RN but after thinking about it for 1 ½ year, my lifelong dream changed to being a Pediatrician. I know it’s going to take more than the last year I have in high school to learn more, that’s why I also researched about doctors and will learn more when I go to college.
My goal to be a pediatrician came to be because of the little experiences that I’ve had with kids. When my mom used to work, I always babysat my brothers and sisters. I also babysat for my aunt. I changed their diapers, played with them, danced with them, and I even tried to entertain them by singing and telling jokes to those who understand to make them feel better and happier. I’ve been doing this since I was in elementary school, of course I didn’t like it that time, but now it’s different.
I like helping people in any way that I can and working and playing with kids, infants or those who are older like at my age. I want to teach people what I was taught by others like my teachers. I want to treat people of their illness and improve our community of sickness. I want to develop a sustained relationship with them and help watch them live a safe and healthy lifestyle.
After I graduate from high school, I will go to college, so that I will gain information and skills that I will use for the rest of my life. A college education will help me acquire a range of knowledge in many subjects, as well as advanced knowledge in the subject I’m interested in. College will increase my understanding of the community socially and that will help when I become a pediatrician.
There are several colleges I want to attend but I decided that I want to go to JCTC for 2 years .Then I will transfer to either University of Kentucky (UK) or university of Louisville (UL) to learn and get a job as a pediatrician plus the academics are top-notch and their close to where I live. . Through diligent work, commitment, and a secure passion for people, I hope to accomplish my dream of being a pediatrician and I will.
